Ayurveda suggests waking up early by 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. so that the child greets the sunrise and natural light sets the right foundation for the day. For older children, begin with basic hygiene, a light tongue scrape would help to get rid of overnight buildup and stimulate digestion, and brushing with a mild toothpaste keeps their mouth fresh. Also, gentle oil pulling can be calming and helps the body to flush out toxins. Having a glass of warm water the first thing in the morning is a classic tip as it rehydrates the body, flushes out toxins, and rekindles digestive fire.
